I went to see the largest building for religious worship in China…the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. This stunning temple was built in 1420 by emperors to worship Heaven and to pray for bountiful harvests.
On the way to the temple, we found ourselves walking through a huge park where many locals hang out every morning. Mostly retirees, they were busy getting their morning exercise, dancing, singing, doing tai chi, playing instruments, crafting, sketching, walking their birds and playing so many different games! We were welcomed with open arms and encouraged to join in at every turn. Tune in to my movie below to see this little slice of Beijing life:
